Eyeball Necklace {Macrame Pattern}

I happened across some of my old patterns while being nostalgic.  Have you ever done macrame?  Here's a pattern for your enjoyment!  Please excuse the picture quality...these were taken several years before I had a good handle on photography in general.

Eyeball Necklace

Materials:
~50ft of 20# hemp twine/cord
macrame board or banana hanger (optional...to keep even tension)
8 spherical or oval beads approx 6-8mm size

Skills:
Overhand Knot (OK)
Square Knot (SK)
Basic understanding of weaving

Instructions:
1.         Measure out 4 strands of 20# hemp to two arm lengths.  Fold in half and tie an OK.

2.         Using strands 1 & 4 as the knotting cords and 2 & 3 as the fillers, tie 5 SKs.

3.         Repeat step 2, using 5 & 8 as the knotting cords and 6 & 7 as the fillers.

4.         String a bead onto 4, then put 5 through the same bead going to opposite way.

5.         Repeat step 2.  Note that 4 & 5 will have switched places.

6.         Weave the two sets together, so that they each end up on the opposite side (left to right, right to left.)

7.         Repeat steps 2-6 seven more times.

8.         Tie an OK to finish it.
